For My Man's 50th birthday in November, I was planning along with my good friend a beach resort vacation with the 2 couples (as her husband is our friend from HS and also turned 50).
With all the COVID restrictions and such, we were having a hard time booking a place that seemed promising to still be open when the trip came around in mid December.
I decided to back out of those plans and shift my thoughts closer to home.
We've both lived in TN since we were 13 and have seen barn after barn and billboard after billboard advertising Ruby Falls and Rock City, yet we have never been.
I decided we would go together...just the 2 of us.
I wanted to stay somewhere unique and I found a treehouse on Lookout Mountain which seemed perfect. My dates shifted from December to January based on availability which meant that AB would be back at college and unable to handle the kids here at home. I called on my mom to help with MQ for a day and trusted the rest of the kids in the house should be able to fend for themselves and behave properly as the colonial kids of old did.
So on Sunday, January 10 we headed to our tree house on the mountain for a 2 night celebration of a belated birthday and anniversary.
We got settled in this amazing and unique tiny house and headed to town for Korean food which we haven't had since living in Singapore in 2000-2002. It was delicious!
