Football Fever

Caleb's personal football seasons improve each year.

We have seen him work hard over the years to beef up his body, give 100% and go from bench-sitter to starting lineup.  It's been a joy as a parent to see his determination and the fruits of hard labor.  This year his teammates voted him as co-captain.  We couldn't have been prouder.

This was a hard season for our team.  A yucky season really.  We had so many games where we were in the lead - even considerably in the lead - yet lost in the end.

As yucky as it was, we hope that characters were built stronger through the adversity that our team experienced this past season.  There's something about the game of football that really hones in on character development for young boys.  I'm thankful to see football molding my son as he is learning solid life lessons.

Lots of "F Words"

This post shows a hodge podge of things we did in November.

 FRIENDS

Ruth's friend is the granddaughter of Larry Gatlin of the Gatlin brothers.  She was invited to his Christmas concert dinner at the Grand Ole Opry.

 FALL!

 FLOWERS

My Man still randomly brings me flowers!  He's the best.

 FLOP!

Our Jack-A-Lanterns are trying to tell us that Halloween is totally over!

 FURNITURE

I attacked the list that my friend (who is helping me decorate) made for me. 

One was painting our book case and distressing it.

 MORE FURNITURE

We cleared out our couches (taking them to the lake house) and made room for new furniture.

 The boxes arrived from IKEA.

 VOILA!  We love them.  Washable couches are the perfect fit for this crew!

I loved comparing the artwork of Jeshua and Jedidiah with their fox pictures.

Their personalities shine through in the details - or lack thereof.

Trick Or Treat

The church fall fest had candy but was not for costumes, so the Fish Sticks dressed up one night and went to our 2 neighbors, plus Grandma and Grandad's house.

Square dancing cowgirl, soldier, Supergirl, Ironman, Nerd, Pumpkin and Ninja.

Checking out their loot and making caramel apples (that was a first for Jeshua and Jedidiah).

Fall Fun

Our church had a fall fest and Jeshua wanted to be the first to go climbing.  

The kids went on a bull ride as well.

Katie and I got to enjoy a nice Mediterranean lunch together.

Caleb and My man built a walkway on the side and front of the house.  Huge project but it looks amazing!

In Singapore, My Man taught a woodworking class at the high school and taught them to make this tool box.  I've never really utilized mine until now.  I painted it white and use it as a seasonal centerpiece.

A friend of ours invited us to a dinner and evening with Vince Gill.

His stories were probably more entertaining than his music.  It was a fun night!

Cootie Patootie

Mary Quinn started smiling big and we loved capturing her smiles on the phone.  

Such a happy, sweet baby!

My friend, Michelle, is the boys' kindergarten teacher and she uses monkeys in her classroom as her theme.  She gave MQ a monkey that sings and we press the button every nap she takes.  She loves it and inches her way over to it to chew on it.

She loves sucking her middle 2 fingers and we think it's the cutest.

She just started grabbing EVERYTHING - especially hair.

Uh Oh!  Getting into electronics already!
