I've got teeth problems.
I grew up hearing my dentist say every year at my cleaning say, "What PERFECT teeth you have! Beautiful. Just beautiful!" I never had a cavity and I never had braces.
Then one day in 2002 while living in Singapore, I noticed that half my back molar was gone. Just gone. I have no clue how or where or when. It didn't hurt so I waited until we came home to go to the dentist about it.
Seems it just cracked in half and so I needed a crown.
Before the year was up, I broke my crown eating a piece of salmon. Yep, salmon. Go figure.
So another crown. And that has been my teeth story of the last 20 years.
I've had so many crowns, I'm pure royalty.
I've broken 3 molars and multiple crowns.
How can I, the girl with PERFECT teeth, have so much trouble??
I've been told that I clench in my sleep.
Like I bite so hard that I have broken through teeth, crowns and I forgot to mention, several mouth guards have split in my mouth.
It's the most frustrating thing to be harming myself and 100% unable to fix the problem as I continue to cause my hard-working husband to fund my dentist's beach vacation. 😣
So just before we headed to the beach for the Payne family vacation, I had a bad toothache. I ignored it until I couldn't chew anything and finally went to the dentist. He found nothing wrong and just clipped my night guard - thinking I was putting so much pressure on my jar by clenching that I was causing pain in my jaw.
This helped me get through the rest of the summer.
Until in September, I heard and felt a molar crack in half while I was eating.
I went back to the dentist and because of the way I cracked it, a crown would not help. It had to be extracted.
So now I have a hole in my mouth where a molar once was, next to a nice molar crown while the other of my pearly whites are just waiting to be pressed together each night to the point of snapping in two like the others.
At this rate, I'll be gumming my food by the time I'm 60.
I told My Man to shoot me before that happens.🙅
