My sweet AB has turned into quite the Christian music fan. I love that she goes around the house playing the latest in Christian music on her Kindle, in our van and in her room. Reminds me a little of myself at her age. My folks served as our small church's youth pastors and used to take our youth group to Christian concerts all the time. That was back before Christian radio stations and when Christian pop like Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith were a new thing. We would load up in our big green van, filled with middle and high schoolers and attend concerts at churches. As my music tastes changed in high school, so did my concert attendance. Mom and Dad always felt more confident going to concerts with me in high school and honored my request to sit in another section away from my friends and me (so they wouldn't see me act like a nut). If the musicians were o.k. for my parents to attend, then they were o.k. for me to attend.
This summer when we heard that Toby Mac would be hosting a concert in Nashville with Jamie Grace, Britt Nicol, Chris August, Group 1 Crew, Mandisa and Brandon Heath, I knew we had to try to get tickets. Five days before our Turkey trip, Tim, AB and I headed downtown for the concert...her first concert. We had a great time and enjoyed ALL of the music so much. Tim was glad he brought his hunting earplugs....it was a bit loud....and I might have embarrassed AB just a little. She's wired more like her dad and was more inclined to sit in her seat during the concert. I, on the other hand, have never sat during a concert and have a hard time standing without dancing around just a little. I kept telling AB that "Toby told us to get up and dance. I was merely following directions." I hope to break her out of her shell just a little before our next concert together.
It was lots of fun and I was so glad My Man and I got to enjoy the first of many (we hope) concerts with our sweet daughter!

I love this!! :)
I'll go with you all to a concert sometime! I'd be dancing in my seat with you, though, so AB might be doubly-embarrassed! :-)
